Build a box and call it a church!

As we dream about launching a new church, it is both exciting and nerve racking. I have a dream and desire to return to some of the beauty that was a part of the early church. One of my greatest frustrations is the build a box mentality for churches. I hate walking into a church with four plain white walls and a stand up front. When did we lose the ability to build something beautiful? When did Christianity stop being the leader in art, music and architecture? I long for the day when we return to the creativity of the past in a way that reaches our culture.
Here are three great churches in Japan. Beautiful and simple.
